I know I say it all the time: “this was my favorite session,” but really… Jolie and Ben knocked it out of the park at their engagement session. Jolie and I had met for coffee beforehand where we hit it off right away. I am so excited to be photographing their wedding in September.
My eyes lit up when Jolie asked about doing an engagement session at the White Sands National Park in New Mexico. I was already planning the trip before I could even reply to her email! If you have never been out to White Sands I highly recommend it. The views are incredible, the hand-painted sunsets in shades of purples and pinks, and the sand is fine like sugar. Once we got there and made our way to the perfect spot I could not stop gushing about how amazing it was and how perfect weather was, making the road trip worth every minute. One thing about shooting in the desert is the weather can be so unpredictable; varied clouds to high winds and cold temperatures. We were blessed with sunny skies, little to no wind, and bearable temps (the weather forecast was saying highs in the 30’s but it ended up being closer to 40).
My favorite thing about engagement sessions is watching my couples interact with each other; when they can cuddle up together and share their love as if no one is watching. Jolie and Ben are the type of people you just want to be friends with, they are such a joy to be around and their love naturally flows into all their relationships. It doesn’t hurt that they are so photogenic!
